Any merchant that sells in-person can now bring the same conversational shopping experience to their customers that the world’s largest retail brands use to convert online visitors and grow foot traffic to their stores.
With Hero for Shopify, stores can shop virtually with online customers via chat and video — and stay in touch via text. Launch partners include Neighborhood Goods, Ministry of Supply, Heyday, Clare V, Naturopathica and The Detox Market, joining established Hero partners on Shopify including UNTUCKit, Credo Beauty and Jonathan Adler.

Adapting to a Post COVID-19 World
COVID-19 has ushered in a wave of changes in retail, including a surge in online shopping. Many independent and growing stores have taken this opportunity either to launch or fine-tune their online storefronts, turning to Shopify. In fact, from March 13, 2020 to April 24, 2020, as COVID-19 related shutdowns hit North America, the number of new stores on Shopify grew by 62 percent, compared to the prior six weeks.
Hero has quickly evolved into what the National Retail Federation recently called a “primary lifeline to customers.” In the past six months alone, more than 1,000,000 shoppers have used Hero to connect virtually with an associate in their nearest store — making them 21 times more likely to buy online versus shopping unassisted.
For partners, Hero has given them the critical tools to stay connected with customers. More than eighty percent have been able to keep part, if not all, of their store teams employed and selling via Hero while working from home. For one partner, Credo Beauty, sales via Hero have accounted for more than 15% of their entire revenue.

How It Works
With Hero for Shopify, merchants can use virtual shopping tools to:
- Assist online visitors like in-store: Answer product questions, provide virtual advice and check availability in-store; giving online shoppers the confidence to buy.
- Text, chat and video call: Chat, send photo and video recommendations, and make video calls from the Hero mobile app.
- Stay in touch with customers via text: Increase loyalty by sending texts with personalized recommendations and links to buy online.
- Grow sales & foot traffic: Whether a shopper wants to buy online or visit the physical store, teams are credited when a customer buys.
Adding Hero to a Shopify or Shopify Plus store is plug and play, with no coding required. At setup, brands are able to select their store locations and invite team members to begin using the Hero app for iOS and Android via a unique invite code.
